HHSS PARTNERSHIP WITH NILE UNIVERSITY WILL STRENGTHEN FCT HEALTH SYSTEM..
The Honourable Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretary (HHSS) Dr. Abubakar Tafida has stated that partnering with relevant stakeholders will improve and strengthen the health system in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This was disclosed when Dr. Tafida received the Vice Chancellor Of Nile University of Nigeria Professor Dilli Dogo when he paid him a courtesy visit in the Health and Human Services Secretariat.
Dr. Tafida emphasized the need to strengthen and value the partnership with relevant stakeholders so as to improve on services. Nile University of Nigeria has been in partnership with the HHSS and according to The Secretary the partnership between Nile University and HHSS has attained “a big Milestone to the FCT Health sector” says Dr. Tafida.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Dilli mainten that Nile University of Nigeria is committed to retaining and strengthen the existing partnership it has with the HHSS thus, one of the reasons for the visit was to inform the Secretary that Nile University seeks to extend and convert the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) it has with HHSS from a short term to a long term.
This according to Professor Dilli, is to enable the University achieve it’s vision of becoming a world class University with it’s MBBS Programme second to none. The MoU so far has attained the University “full accreditation by the National University Commission (NUC) and have successfully completed the Basic Medical and First Clinical Accreditation by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)” the Vice Chancellor said.
Also, Professor Dilli felicitated with Dr. Abubakar Tafida on his appointment as the Honourable Secretary, Health and Human Services Secretariat and wished him a very successful tenure in FCT Administration.
Among those that received the Vice Chancellor in FCT Health Secretariat are the DG FCT- Hospitals Management Board Dr Mohammed Kawu, Director special Duties Office of the Hon. Secretary HHSS Dr.Matthew Ashikeni, HHSS Director of Medical and Diagnostics Dr Abubakar Ahmadu and other Management Staff of the Secretariat.
